Fourknocks Passage Tomb comes from the Irish name of Na Fuarchnoic meaning Cold Hills. As a passage tomb, it was built between 3000 and 2500 BC. It has a short passage into the central chamber. The main chamber has three alcoves which have carved top stones on them. There is also one larger stone which is believed to be the representation of a man's face. When this was excavated, the burial remains of 65 people, adults and children were found within the passage and alcoves. Some had been cremated. There are some inside photos on the next page.
