Knockelly Castle : from the driveway

Knockelly has a large enclosed area (bawn) with a tower house on one side. At each corner of the walls are short wide towers. The tower keep was erected in the 16th century. It did appear to be used for defensive purposes. Knockelly castle is part of a working farm and privately owned.
